Helped the board of a leading global Drinks Co. to develop a new Operating Model to drive innovation and growth in Emerging Markets. Operating Model included new regional structure, roles & responsibility, 'Enhanced Routes to Market', innovation and supply chain improvements. Introduced balanced KPIs to enhance local entrepreneurism and empowerment.

Store Transformation

Helped a leading global grocer to deliver a successful Store Transformation program. Worked collaboratively with client teams to implement a structured process to generate, evaluate and prioritize new in store improvement initiates. Each prioritized initiative was supported by a robust business case. Implemented a process to test, refine and roll out new initiates across the entire store estate. We helped create an organizational culture and commitment to implement these customer facing improvement initiatives resulting in better on shelf availability, better management of instore promotional processes, improved customer services levels, a better in store shopping experience. Non value add in store processes were streamlined thus freeing up staff time to better serve customers.

Global Trade Marketing and Sales technology roll out

Worked with a global Consumer Goods company to develop and manage a Trade Marketing & Sales joint venture company. The company implemented new Siebel technology solutions and processes in over 20 overseas markets. Improved Direct Store Distribution, Retail Execution and Instore Promotional activity in both developed and Emerging Markets. Helped structure the joint venture company, recruited over 120 staff. Implemented robust KPIs to manage the business. JV sold its services to overseas Op Cos as well as external Consumer Goods companies. Ensured effective implementation of solutions on time to budget. Full P&L responsibility.

Retail Operational Restructuring

Helped with new CEO of a mass merchandise retailer that faced the challenge of reversing a downward trend in sales and margins. Phase 1 involved identifying and quantifying opportunities to reduce costs , improve margins and increase revenues. Phase 1 delivered a robust Business Case for change. Phase 2 focused on execution of process improvements in Marketing, Store Promotions, Merchandise Management and Buying. Streamlined processes and delayered management levels. Introduced clearer roles, responsibilities and management accountability including new KPIs. Delivered significant cost reduction and improvements in profitability.

Retail Operational Restructuring

Helped the new CEO of a leading footwear manufacturer and retailer to restructure the company. Key focus was repositioning the company from manufacturing push to consumer led. The company faced poor alignment between its Manufacturing and Retail Divisions . The program ensured that the company became more consumer led by empowering the retail Division. This involved streamlining multiple store formats and brands, improving Product Design and Merchandising Planning and forecasting. The program also simplified the organization and reduced costs. Rationalized suppliers and improved supplier strategy management processes. Off shored manufacturing. Helped deliver significant cost efficiency and market share and profitability improvements.

Global Supply Chain New Venture

Helped global Consumer Goods company new ventures team to develop an online Sales and Distribution Trading Exchange for convenience stores in Emerging Markets. New business model allowed mid sized FMCG companies to list and sell products to convenience stores in EM via an on line exchange. Pilot Operations in LATAM and Australia.
